Easter is approaching, and we can taste chocolate in the air. If you’re tired of looking for chocolate in your cupboard and want to try something new, there are plenty of fantastic Easter egg hunts taking place in Melbourne and beyond. Take your family and explore some classic theme parks or beautiful farmland. Most of these events need reservations. Let’s get to it!
1. Luna Park.
The Annual Great Luna Park Easter Egg Hunt returns to this famous theme park, and “great” may be an understatement. A remarkable 30,000 eggs will be concealed across the park, with back-to-back hunts taking place on Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31. The egg hunts are divided into age categories of 0-3, 4-7, 8-12, and 13+, with limited seats available in each segment.
After the search, take in the Easter bunny acrobats bouncing about the park, as well as the exciting attractions and carnival goodies. Easter egg hunt tickets must be bought in advance.

2. Preston Market (Supplied)
The traditional Easter egg hunt has returned to Preston Market. Use a map to search for eggs in and around the Market. There is no age restriction or registration requirement. You may also gather Easter eggs from the wandering Easter Bunny all day. The egg hunt will take place on Sunday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

3. Farm Vigano.
The traditional Easter egg hunt is returning to Farm Vigano. Take your kids to visit the Easter Bunny, take photos, and join in the search. Find the golden egg to earn a prise. Tickets cost $10 per kid. Coffee and hot cross buns will be available for purchase, with all profits going to the RCH Good Friday Appeal. This event will take place on Sunday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m.

4. Melbourne’s Easter Carnival
Visit Whitehorse Civic Centre Precinct for Melbourne’s Easter Carnival. There will be an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, egg and spoon races, animal feeding, a reptile farm, magic performances, face painting, and other activities. Visit between 12 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31.

5. Berwick Easter Fair
Visit Akoonah Park during the Berwick Easter Fair. Have fun with an Easter egg hunt, carnival rides, food trucks, an animal farm, show bags, face painting, and other activities. Everything will take place between March 29 and April 1. The Easter egg hunts will take place every 15 minutes, with tickets costing $15. Stay tuned here.

6. Eynesbury Homestead
Are you excited for Easter? Do you want to start eating chocolate early? Get your chocolate fix by attending the Pre-Easter Sunday Kids Funday at Eynesbury Homestead on Sunday, March 24. Take part in the Easter egg search, then enjoy pony rides, inflatable attractions, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. There will also be a screening of the film Hop. Tickets are $10, and the event will go from 12pm until 5pm.

7. Tesselaar KaBloom Festival of Flowers
Attend this floral festival in the Dandenong Ranges and participate in their Easter Rabbit hunt. From March 30 to April 1, you will hunt rabbits rather than Easter eggs. This scavenger hunt will take you around the farm looking for rabbits. Once you’ve written down all of their names on the clue sheet, bring your answers to the store to collect the prise, which includes a cuddly bunny and eight Cadbury eggs. The Easter Hunt costs $10 per participant and is appropriate for all ages. There are only 250 search slots available each day, so if you want to join, come early. Find out more here.

8. Balgownie Estate, Yarra Valley
Visit Balgownie Estate in the Yarra Valley and enjoy a superb four-course meal at their 1309 restaurant. This delicious dinner includes a shared entrée, sharing plates, your choice of main course, and dessert. 9. Yarra Valley or Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery.
Visit one of these exquisite chocolateries throughout the state and participate in their famed Easter egg hunts. Look for four clues and deliver them to the Easter Bunny. Each participating youngster will then get a unique Easter Gift Box with delicious chocolate eggs and small bunnies. Spots are limited and will be available at specific times on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Easter Sunday. Tickets cost $6.50 per kid. See more here.

On Easter Sunday, Tokar Estate will host an Easter egg hunt and a petting zoo for the whole family. Tickets are $45 for a family of two adults and up to three children, and the Easter activities will go from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. At the basement entrance, guests may enjoy fresh hot cross buns and wine samples. 11. Boneo Discovery Park.
Boneo Discovery Park is starting the day with their usual Easter egg hunt, which includes separate zones for the small ones and the older kids. In addition to the egg search, there will be egg and spoon races, bunny hop sack races, face painting, craft activities, and visits by the Easter Bunny. If you’re looking for more, try the Bilby Discovery Hunt or Scavenger Hunt and explore the park. It all happens on Sunday, March 31, and all Easter events are included with regular park admission. 12. The Big Goose.
Head to The Big Goose in Mornington to participate in their Easter Egg Scramble. Collect as many plastic eggs as you can until the Easter Bunny rings the bell, then bring them to the counting station. Each youngster who participates will get a bag of little Easter eggs. In addition, Golden Eggs will be buried across the farm, and anyone finds one will earn a Big Goose plush toy.
